I drank a bunch of toad wine that evening and wandered through the fair alone, finding strange displays only available to the adult evening crowd. A two headed boy gave me a handcuff key that I still carry with me today. I then saw a miniature horse ridden by an even smaller man. A strongman wept onstage, inconsolable. All these sights I shared with no one but myself and blurs of strangers passing by. The circus is better with a friend.
